The roundtrip painting

In 2023 I painted a large oil painting on linen in my Palm Springs studio that abstractly captures the desert in spring.  In late 2024 the painting, Road Map #59 (Exploring the Canyons of Little Tuscany), was included in a group exhibition at the Rhett Baruch Gallery in Los Angeles.  More recently, it was chosen by Commune Design and the new owners of the Ace Hotel Palm Springs to be the centerpiece of their redesign for the iconic Amigo Room cocktail lounge.

I could not have been more excited to see the painting in this beautifully casual space. But wait, there's more:  as an extra treat the hotel chose 20 additional paintings to be hung temporarily in the Amigo Room through April 2025

The Ace Hotel is going through a total refresh and I hope you can stop by and see the artwork, explore the new design enhancements throughout the property and grab a drink or dinner.  The hotel and gallery are jointly hosting a special exhibition event this Thursday night from 5 to 8pm  and I’ll be there hanging out and talking about the pictures!
